New Unger HiFlo™ nLite – Evolutionary Water Fed Pole Technology for Professionals

Unger is ushering in a new age of enlightenment with the launch of HiFlo™ nLite – the most advanced water-fed pole system to hit the market in years.

This latest innovation from Unger, the company that provides smart cleaning solutions to more than 80 countries worldwide, will change the way that windows and façades are cleaned forever by combining the best features of its telescopic and modular poles into a brand new system that delivers unrivalled results and adaptability.

The key features of the new Unger HiFloTM nLite system are:

Innovative engineering

Perfect balance – better rigidity for more control, and yet up to 50% lighter in weight thanks to its carbon fibre technology

Hi tech design – every part of the system, from clamps and levers to brushes has been created to deliver the highest standards with cutting edge looks

Ease of use

Comfort and safety – the weight/rigidity balance makes HiFloTM nLite easier and more comfortable to use, even for longer periods of time

Easy assembly – extensions can be added quickly and easily, and equipment adjusted to tackle any cleaning situation

Adaptability

Mix and match – only use as many poles or attachments as you need

Multi-talented system – the HiFloTM nLite can be used to clean glass and building facades, stainless steel, solar panels, signage, and vehicles

Unique hose management system – allows the user to have the hose inside or outside the pole

The highest professional cleaning standards are even easier to achieve with the HiFloTM nLite system thanks to its perfect balance between weight and rigidity. Not only are the poles lighter than conventional versions, the use of cutting edge design and technology means that even when extensions are added rigidity is not compromised, and yet the weight and ergonomics of the system still make it a pleasure to use.

The four section master pole cleans up to a height of 6.63m/22ft, but taller locations are easily reached by adding two-stage extensions to the base of the master pole. These extensions, each adding another potential 11ft of reach but crucially not adding anything to the width and feel of the pole, measure 35mm in diameter – an optimum size that fits easily into the hands of the professional for quick and comfortable cleaning. Even if you’re cleaning to a height of around 65ft the HiFloTM nLite offers the ‘gold standard’ in terms of ease of use and results – because it combines just the right amount of rigidity to control your cleaning, but in a lightweight system that’s better for the professional to use.

Every part of the new system has been designed specifically with the user in mind. The clamps, which adjust pole height or attach the extensions, are simple to operate – no fiddly allen key-type devices needed – and easily adjustable to ensure the right tension; plus the gooseneck attachment is made from carbon fibre, again keeping weight to a minimum. Even the brushes are lighter – but that doesn’t mean less features or functionality. On the contrary, a selection of brushes are available, one of which, at 60cm/24in, is large enough to quickly clean solar panels, featuring bristles designed to get into the smallest corner and help with scrubbing actions. Whereas conventional brushes usually only have two jets, HiFloTM nLite brushes can feature up to ten quick release jets, making it much easier to control the water flow and rinse surfaces.

Dave Rogers, Unger Europe’s European Sales Manager, said: “We believe that the HiFlo™ nLite is a truly revolutionary new product, the next generation of water-fed cleaning pole systems. We are confident that HiFlo™ nLite will be received enthusiastically by window cleaners and contract cleaners across the globe, thanks to its innovative features, ease of use and cost benefits. The launch of HiFlo™ nLite is a high point in Unger’s history, a real leap forward in the evolution of professional cleaning equipment.”

If you want to be ‘enlightened’ the HiFlo™ nLite will be unveiled to the global cleaning industry on stand 1.205 at ISSA/Interclean, Amsterdam RAI, Netherlands 8-11 May.

The PHS Group, one of the UK’s leading workplace service providers, is proud to announce that the sanitary disposal unit [...]

The PHS Group, one of the UK’s leading workplace service providers, is proud to announce that the sanitary disposal unit exchange services operated by its PHS Washrooms division now hold the Carbon Trust’s Carbon Reduction Label.

In a world first for the industry, PHS Washrooms can now display the Carbon Reduction Label which identifies that these services have had their carbon footprints calculated and then independently certified by the Carbon Trust against an internationally recognised standard. PHS Washrooms plans to include the Label in a variety of communications specifically relating to its sanitary disposal unit exchange services, including sales literature, press releases and web pages. A carbon footprint is the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases emitted by a product or service during the life or a product or service, including production, use and disposal. For PHS Washrooms’ sanitary disposal unit exchange services this includes the manufacturing of a sanitary disposal unit, the collection and cleaning process, and the disposal of the waste.

By displaying the Carbon Trust’s Carbon Reduction Label, PHS Washrooms is making a commitment to measure and reduce the carbon footprint of these services over a two year period. The information for this project, which concentrated on PHS Washroom’s sanitary disposal unit exchange services using the ‘Eclipse’ and ‘Mini’ bins, was collected from PHS Washrooms and other key suppliers. To be eligible to use the Carbon Reduction Label the carbon footprint was certified by Carbon Trust Certification Limited to the British Standards Institution’s Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 2050:2008, the Carbon Trust’s Code of Good Practice and The Carbon Trust’s Footprint Expert Guide.

Keri Reynolds, Marketing Manager for PHS Washrooms, said: “We are delighted to have achieved the milestone of certification to the Carbon Trust Standard, which demonstrates our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our products and services. The assessment process and certification has given us the opportunity to look at ways to increase energy efficiency, reduce waste and streamline logistics for our core products and services. Our aim is to offer our customers an even better service, and in turn help them achieve their own environmental goals.”

Darran Messem, Managing Director of Certification at the Carbon Trust, said: “Calculating the carbon footprint of a product or service is an important step in reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and cost. The Carbon Trust congratulates PHS Washrooms for their hard work and commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their sanitary disposal unit exchange services. The certification and labelling demonstrates that with the right level of skills, tenacity, and support it is possible to reduce an organisation’s environmental impact, which has a hugely positive effect on a company’s reputation, and the business as a whole.”

The Southampton-based company was independently assessed by LRQA earlier this year, and after achieving the exacting criteria required, was awarded the accreditation.

Mark Bresnihan, managing director of Industrial Cleaning Equipment (ICE), said: “This marks another huge step forward for the company, which shows how serious we are about constantly improving the service we provide to our customers.

Like the phrase, ‘charity begins at home’, good external communications start internally. A company or organisation wanting to raise its profile in the outside world hasn’t got much chance of success if its internal messages aren’t crystal clear.

Effective internal communications are essential to the smooth running of any business. Done in the right way it can motivate, inspire and help retain staff, and although not immediately obvious, can aid your external PR ambitions. A happy employee that feels totally ‘in the loop’ about what is going on in the organisation they work for is more likely to be an ambassador for that company, spreading the word to all they know about how great it is to work there. It can also reap monetary rewards too, because that same happy worker will also wax lyrical about the fantastic products and services that you offer, increasing sales and boosting your bottom line.

There are many tools that can be used to deliver successful internal communications. These can range from intranets and emails to more traditional newsletters and notice boards. A good PR/communications agency will be a trusted colleague in creating your internal communications strategy, guiding you through some key considerations such as:

Assessing the effectiveness of your current strategy together with the content and resources used.

Talking to your staff, finding out how they like to receive their information and what they want to hear from you.

Reviewing your current communication methods – could they be delivered more effectively or economically?

Employee surveys – carried out before and after campaigns to see if attitudes have changed; messages have hit home, etc.

Delivering the goods – writing your internal communications strategy, implementing it, and creating informative and entertaining content that your workforce wants to read.

Don’t forget – the best communications are two-way. Giving your employees the chance to contribute and have their say will achieve better results than if it is just seen as a ‘top down’ exercise. And you might learn something valuable about your company into the bargain!

The global cleaning industry is gearing up for Interclean Amsterdam, which is now just a few weeks away (8-11 May). Exhibiting at trade shows and events, whether abroad or at home, is a great way for companies to meet new clients, promote their services, launch new products and network with colleagues. However, it can use a substantial part of a company’s marketing budget so it makes sense to maximise your investment. Opportunities to publicise your products, generate sales leads, and speak to existing customers should form a major part of your communication campaign, and the planning must start well in advance of the show dates.

This is where a good PR agency can help by making sure you have maximum exposure before, during and after the show. Activities could include:

Pre-show: Articles and news items in key industry titles and show preview features, to publicise your company’s appearance and the products/services it will be promoting.

At the show: Press packs written and made available at the show’s press office; arrange interviews with journalists/editors; update Twitter feeds and website with news from the show and photos of the stand; stand competitions to encourage visitors to submit their contact details.

Post-show: Articles and press releases with results from the show and any industry trends that were emerging through feedback from clients and colleagues; help with follow-up communication to prospective new clients who visited the stand.

So, the show really does go on – even when you have packed up the stand and gone home! Effective and timely PR can help to build on the impression made at the event and bring business benefits to your company for months after, and beyond. If you’re exhibiting at the UK’s next big cleaning event, The Cleaning Show 2013, it’s definitely not too early to start thinking about how you’re going to create an impression!

When we’re looking to invest in a new product or service, the opinion of someone we trust is one of the most powerful things that can persuade us to make a purchase. We can talk to family and friends, canvas the opinions of colleagues, and mine the huge bank of on-line reviews now freely available.

Hearing about someone’s direct experience of a product or service will always grab the attention and interest of the reader – so that’s why case studies are so important in successful PR campaigns.

By gaining written permission to use your client’s words of endorsement in brochures, press releases, articles, and on your website, in emails or podcasts, it will not only promote your company and its excellent products and services, it will also give publicity to your client too. Perhaps they could feature the case study in their own newsletter or website – boosting your brand and your SEO into the bargain!

Have you got a great case study that you’d like to share? Call us on 01825 714329, email info@cbipr.com

The thought of public speaking can be daunting for many, but if you want to heighten your company’s profile, carefully selected speaking opportunities should form part of your wider communications campaign.

Speeches or presentations are a powerful way to communicate directly with your target audience, giving you the invaluable opportunity to speak to them face-to-face.

The first stage in putting together a speaker programme is to select your ‘talking head’. This person will be the public face of the company so it is often the managing director or CEO, but it could also be another person in a senior position who has a good breadth of knowledge about the company and the relevant industry issues. They should also be confident, relaxed and engaging communicators – but specialised training is available if needed. It’s also important to be realistic about the amount of time your speaker will be able to commit to engagements during the year, so this should be factored in when arranging the programme.

The next step is to review the conferences, conventions, seminars and trade shows to be held by relevant industry bodies in the coming year. Usually event organisers will post a summary of the theme of their event online, so monitor their websites for opportunities and be proactive in approaching them with ideas.

A good PR agency can play a key role in this – plus they can help you actually write a meaningful presentation that will win your target audience’s hearts and minds – and achieve your company’s aims and ambitions.

The right words speak volumes – for your brand, company or organisation – and when you get the message right, it resonates down the years, inspiring recognition and enhancing reputations.

Just think back to the ad campaigns you remember most (which, unfortunately, may also reveal your age). Whether it’s, ‘Go to work on an egg’; ‘Everyone’s a fruit and nutcase’; ‘If you see Sid – tell him’; or ‘Watch out, there’s a Humphrey about’, everyone has their own personal favourite. And the fact that they are still remembered is proof of the power of good communications, perhaps encapsulated in another memorable phrase: ‘It’s good to talk’.

In today’s increasingly competitive economic climate creative communications are the way to give your company an edge. You may be the best manufacturer or service provider, the most supportive employer, with the broadest product range and most comprehensive customer service in the country, but if you don’t tell anyone, no-one will know!

The answer is to call in an expert – a public relations agency that can become a true partner in your business success. PR is all about building reputations which, in turn, builds business, enhancing your reputation and getting people talking about you and your company. Whether it’s a press release on a new contract win or product launch, an in-depth article about a specific subject or issue, speaking slots at an event or exhibition, written content for your website, social media support, or radio/TV interviews – a good PR partner can make these things work for you and your company. For companies that want to succeed, PR is no longer a ‘nice to have’ – it is a must have.

If you feel that your company could benefit from a higher profile in relevant target markets call Ceris Burns on 01825 714329 or email info@cbipr.com
